Schuylkill County voters cast votes yesterday for school director posts for area school districts.

The results follow:Tamaqua AreaIn Tamaqua area there are five seats up for election with five candidates seeking the positions. All five cross-filed and are almost assured of winning the four-year terms.One candidate, Robert W. Betz, a long-term member of the board, passed away late last week but his name was still on the ballot and he won.The vote totals for all candidates follow: On the Democratic side Wanda Zuber 345, Daniel E. Schoener 324, Melanie I.S. Dillman 324, Larry A. Wittig 204, and Betz 236. On the GOP side Zuber 1,165, Schoener 1,114, Wittig 1,092, Dillman 1,041, and Betz 765.Panther ValleyVoters in Coaldale cast ballots for school director in the Panther Valley School District.There are five seats, four-year terms, up for election with seven candidates.The vote totals are as follows:On the Democratic side Wayne V. Gryzik 95, Joseph J. Faenza Jr. 92, Anthony Demarco 73, Gary Porembo 69, Renee Demelfi 61, Michelle Markovich 50, and Jeffrey J. Markovich 43.On the GOP side Gryzik 154, Porembo 134, Demarco 121, Demelfi 106, Michelle Markovich 72 and Jeffrey Markovich 69.The vote totals will be added to each candidates totals in the other communities who vote in the district to determine the winners.Mahanoy AreaThere are five seats, four-year terms, up for election in the fall in the Mahanoy Area School District. There were six names on both ballots yesterday.The order of finish was as follows:Democratic: Nancy Boyle 420, Gary R. Gnall 401, Daniel Lynch 371, Michael J. Mistishen 356, Nikki Stetson 328, and Larry Levy 319.GOP: Gnall 397, Boyle 377, Lynch 358, Mistishen 333, Stetson 275, and Levy 268.Blue MountainIn the Blue Mountain School District there are five seats, four-year terms, up for election in the fall. There were five names on the ballot, all cross-filed.The vote totals were as follow:Democrat: Scott Reichert 511, Mark B. Hoover 468, Michelle Z. Vesay 459, Mary Jo Moss 439, and David Lafko 436.Republican: Reichert 1,347, Hoover 1,222, Lafko 1,194, Vesay 1,167, and Moss 1,132.Hazleton AreaThere are five seats, four-year terms, up for election in the Hazleton Area School District.McAdoo and Kline Township voters cast ballots in the district.There were six candidates on the ballot Tuesday. The order of finish follows:Democrat: Tony Bonomo 242, Vinnie Zola 241, Jackie Scarcella 210, Robert Fiume 205, Marie Kay 205, and Camella Yenkevich 192.Republican: Zola 342, Bonomo 321, Fiume 309, Yenkevich 294, Scarcella 294, and Kay 283.The vote totals will be added to the voting in the other communities in the district to determine the winners.
