An 18-year-old student at a Carbon County school has been charged with making threats to shoot another student.

Jim Thorpe police said Collin Richard Green, of 85 Broad Mountain View Drive, Jim Thorpe, has been charged with terroristic threats and two counts of harassment, according to a release issued Tuesday.According to an affidavit filed by Detective Lee Marzen of the Jim Thorpe Police Department:Marzen was dispatched to the Carbon Career Technical Institute, 150 W. 13th St., on Oct. 31, for a threat made against another student.Marzen said he was told Green entered the school and threatened to shoot a juvenile student.Marzen talked to the student Green allegedly threatened to shoot, who said Green approached him on the second floor of the building near the nursing room and told him, "Better watch it, tough guy."Green is an alternative education student who was given permission to enter the school to use the restrooms on the first floor.Marzen said Green should not have been on the second floor for any reason. The student said that this disagreement stems back to a previous incident sometime over the summer when Green allegedly brought a gun to a fight involving the student.Green then said that he would bring a gun and shoot the student.Right after the comment, the student said Green made gestures with his hands that simulated the use of a gun while pointing at the student.Green is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing at 2:45 p.m. May 27 before District Judge Ed Lewis of Jim Thorpe.
