The Carbon County Planning Commission rejected the preliminary plan of the Oscar Shafer Trailer Park development along the Lentz Trail in Jim Thorpe.

The commission authorized its solicitor, attorney Anthony Roberti, to study the problem of the firm's noncompliance with the county's Subdivision Regulations Ordinance, for which it could be fined up top $5,000.It was revealed the Shafer firm has five violations to date, each carrying a $1,000 penalty, because of five trailer units having been placed on the property without conforming to the existing county regulations.
