Lehighton Area High School hosts choral concert Saturday

The Lehighton Area High School Music Department will present the schools' 98th Annual Spring Choral Concert at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in the high school auditorium.

A freewill donation will be accepted at the door.The theme of the concert is "An Evening in New York" and it will feature selections that one would hear on a concert stage, like Carnegie Hall, to the Broadway stage.The program will feature the Concert Choir.Selections will be from "Aida," "Beauty and the Beast," "Carousel," "Jersey Boys," "The Little Mermaid," "The Lion King," and more.The choir is accompanied by Emily Cerimele and Noah Williams.The award-winning show choir, "Music Express," will also be featured in the concert and will perform selections from "Annie Get Your Gun," "Hairspray," "Motown The Musical" and "Rent."This choreographed auditioned choir features eight men and nine women. The group has spent countless hours of rehearsals in preparation for this high-energy performance.The choirs are under the direction of David Perkins.The concert is open to the public and everyone in the community is invited to attend and enjoy an evening of music and dance.
