ALLENTOWN (AP) - A defense attorney says a driver had a seizure behind the wheel before a crash that killed his mother, another woman and her teenage son two years ago.

Defense attorney John Karoly said Wednesday in Lehigh County Court that 34-year-old John Edward Mayer of Slatington has a seizure disorder, and one occurred before the February 2013 crash in Whitehall Township.Authorities say Mayer's pickup was going 86 mph in a 30 mph construction zone when he ran a red light and hit a sedan, killing 16-year-old George Gonzalez and 42-year-old Sharon Gonzalez. Virginia Mayer died in July of what authorities said were complications from crash injuries.Judge Kelly Banach on Wednesday granted a defense motion barring prosecutors from using photos of the victims' bodies that the judge called "gruesome."
