A Mahoning Township teen is accused of driving under the influence of a controlled substance stemming from a March crash.

Chandler George, 19, of Mahoning Drive East, was traveling at a high rate of speed around 4:18 p.m. on March 6, when his Dodge Neon tried to pass a 1994 Dodge Caravan on Route 902 by using the oncoming lane of traffic, according to Mahoning Township police.Dean Walck, of East Penn Township, was driving the Caravan, which was stopped waiting to turn onto Mahoning Heights Road.A blood test on George showed the presence of marijuana, codeine, morphine-free, and 6-monoacetylmorphine-free.Other charges against George include reckless driving, careless driving and driving a vehicle at an unsafe speed.A preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 3.
