Schuylkill County President Judge William Baldwin on April 16 admitted two people charged by Rush Township police into the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition program for 12 months. Both were charged with driving under the influence of drugs, and were ordered to pay $500 each toward the cost of the program, perform 10 hours of community service, undergo urine screens, and pay court costs and fees.

Under the program, the defendant doesn't admit to guilt, and may have his record expunged upon successful completion.Matthew Snyder, 21, of Shamokin, was ordered to relinquish his license for 90 days. He was charged after a March 17, 2014, incident with three counts of DUI/controlled substance, possession of a small amount of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, lighting violations, and careless driving. All but the DUI counts were dropped.Nevin Holben, 19, of New Ringgold, was ordered to relinquish his license for 60 days. He was charged after a May 18, 2014, incident with two counts of DUI/controlled substance, and lighting violations.Judge Cyrus Palmer Dolbin on April 15 ejected a Tremont woman from the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition program and ordered her to stand trial on charges filed by Rush Township police, providing authorities can find her.Brittni Shaak, 20, failed to show up for her hearing, and so Dolbin issued a bench warrant.She was charged by Rush Township police on Nov. 26, 2013, with driving under the influence of multiple controlled substances and with possession of drug paraphernalia.Shaak had methamphetamine in her blood system during a 2 a.m. incident in the parking lot of Skipper Dippers along Route 309. She was admitted into the ARD program in October 2013.Dolbin found that she had violated the conditions of the program, and terminated her participation.
