An investigation that targeted the sale of crack cocaine has led to the arrest of a Lehigh County man.
On March 31, officers from the Mahoning Township Police Department conducted a narcotics investigation as members of the Carbon County Drug Task Force. The investigation targeted the sale of crack cocaine.As part of the investigation, Malikul Shabazz, 40, of Allentown, was contacted by phone. Malikul agreed to deliver eight bags of crack cocaine at the Walmart in Mahoning Township, at which time he was placed under arrest inside the electronics department of the store.Malikul was found to be in possession of eight bags of crack cocaine. During an interview, he admitted he intended to sell the crack cocaine at the store.He was arraigned and released in lieu of $75,000 bail on the following charges: Possession with intent to manufacture or deliver (felony); criminal use of a communication facility (felony); and unlawful possession of a controlled substance (misdemeanor)A preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 6 at Magisterial District Judge Casimir Kosciolek's office.
Shabazz
