Marianne Dwyer has announced her candidacy for a seat on the Lehighton School Board.

She is a resident of Lehighton. Marianne is employed as an account representative at Aetna Insurance in Allentown.Dwyer is involved in widespread community services. She is a member of Mahoning Lions and an associate member of Lehighton Lioness. Throughout the year, they run many different fundraisers which contribute back to the community.She also holds a director seat for the Carbon County Fair Board.She also is the secretary for the Amazing Grace Spay and Neuter program. This program gives assistance, helping low-income individuals pay for the procedures."I am dedicated to community service and will continue to serve the people who elect me by listening to what they say and to represent their needs."Marianne is married to her husband of 29 years, Edward."My main objective is renovation, not a new school. We cannot put all of our eggs in one basket, as they say. Each of the four schools are unique and they cannot be closed. We can renovate and save the taxpayers money, and the children will be happier in a smaller environment."
