A tractor trailer operator was injured Wednesday evening when involved in a crash at the intersection of Routes 209 and 93 in Nesquehoning.

The crash occurred just before 7 p.m. as the rig was traveling south on Route 93 descending the Broad Mountain.

Apparently the rig had brake issues and was unable to stop nor did the driver utilize the truck runoff.

The driver attempted to make a left turn onto Route 209 north but lost control laying the rig on its side as it went through the intersection.

The unit came to rest on its side against an embankment along the south berm.

Nesquehoning police are investigating the incident.
