For the majority of this week, motorists who travel southbound on the Northeastern Extension (I-476) of the Pennsylvania Turnpike can expect single-lane traffic patterns.

The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission advises motorists to be prepared for a single-lane traffic pattern between the Pocono (Exit 95) and Mahoning Valley (Exit 74) interchanges which is in effect from 10 a.m. today through noon on Friday.Due to the single-lane traffic pattern southbound, the right lane and shoulder (milepost A89.0-A87.0) will be closed during milling and paving operations between milepost A89.0 and A87.0 until the pattern is lifted Friday.During this time, the posted speed limit through this work zone will be 55 mph.The work is dependent on the weather, and could be delayed or canceled.
