A Carbon County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence following an incident that occurred Friday at 5:50 p.m.

State police at Fern Ridge said James John Peterson, 60, of Albrightsville, was stopped along Route 903, just north of the intersection with Route 534, in Kidder Township, after troopers received a phone call from his wife, stating he had taken too much of his prescription medication and left their residence.Peterson was found to be under the influence of a controlled substance and taken to the Palmerton hospital by the Lake Harmony ambulance. Charges will be filed, troopers said.
