Carbon County firefighters have been called out several times this week to brush fires.
On Thursday the Aquashicola Fire Company, along with crews of the Department of Forestry, were called to a brush fire at the corner of Maple Drive and Fireline Road in Lower Towamensing Township. Crewsmanaged to contain the fire with the use of hoses and chain saws.Schuylkill County has enacted a 30-day burn ban, as have several townships inCarbon County.The National Weather Service has issued a warning that on Saturday the combination of warm and drying conditions with gustyafternoon winds will present a great risk.
