Defendants plead guilty in Carbon County court

Two defendants in pending criminal matters entered guilty pleas before Carbon County Judge Steven R. Serfass on Tuesday.

Travis James Schoenberger, 27, of Weatherly, pleaded to one count of persistent disorderly conduct. He was arrested on Dec. 25, 2014, for causing a disturbance in the area of 210 White St., Weissport. He was found yelling obscenities and refused to stop when told by state police at Lehighton.Serfass sentenced him to serve three to six months in the county prison, ruling he must serve the entire six months.Kyle Wayne Brodt, 24, of Albrightsville, pleaded to one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. He was arrested on March 28, 2012, along Route 534 in Penn Forest Township by state police at Lehighton following a traffic stop.Serfass placed him on probation for a year and ordered he get a D&A evaluation and render 50 hours of community service.Each defendant must also pay court costs of about $1,000 and a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation or parole.
