Boyko runs for Carbon commissioner

Thomas Boyko, 47, is a Democrat running for Carbon County commissioner. He currently works for the commonwealth.

Boyko is seeking this position because the people need a voice in the commissioners office as to the way their tax dollars are spent and the policies that are being made.Boyko is opposed to a tax increase. Instead he says he will seek out companies looking to relocate and show them the benefits of moving to Carbon County through a structured tax incentive program. He would run the county like a business with common-sense decision making to help grow the local economy.With only a high school education he successfully started his own businesses called Boyko Beverage in Towamensing Township and Checkered Flag Auto Sales in Lehighton.Boyko is a retired Teamster and current AFSCME. He is a member of Lehigh Fire Company No. 1, Lehighton;

I.S.D.A. No. 43, St. Gabriel's, Summit Hill, and Beaver Run Rod & Gun Club.
