Egg hunt

Living Hope Lighthouse Church will sponsor a free egg hunt in the Palmerton Borough Park at 10 a.m. Saturday.There will be prizes, crafts and refreshments.Pictures with the Easter Bunny will be in the fellowship hall, 705 Third St, Palmerton.Concourse ClubThe Palmerton Concourse Club will meet at 7 p.m. April 9 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2915 Fireline Road, Palmerton.Folk music will be the highlight of the program for the evening.Tom Storm, of Jim Thorpe, will entertain by performing a number of folk songs, many focusing on the local history of the Carbon County area.Volunteers neededCan you spare one hour a week for a worthy cause?The Meals on Wheels program in Palmerton needs more deliverers.Deliveries are made from the Palmerton Hospital about 11 a.m. Monday through Friday, holidays included.Each route requires less than one hour.If you can't commit for a certain day each week, perhaps you would be willing to substitute as needed?To volunteer, or for more information, call 610-826-3141, ext. 1163.Bookmark contestThe Palmerton Area Library, 402 Delaware Ave. Palmerton, is sponsoring its annual bookmark contest for children in preschool through grade 6.Stop in the library for an entry form, which is due by April 8.The book marks will be judged in three area groups.The winning bookmarks will be printed and handed out at the library checkout desk throughout the year.Holy Trinity newsHoly Trinity Lutheran Church, 502 Lafayette Ave. Palmerton, will hold worship services on Good Friday at 7:30 p.m.Worship services on Sunday will include Easter Communion at 8 and 10:45 a.mThe choir will present anthems on Good Friday and Easter morning.The Resurrection Ringers and Junior Bells will ring on Easter.There will be no Sunday School Easter morning.
