N. Lehigh accepts bids for trash service

Northern Lehigh School District could soon have a new trash agreement in place.

Four vendors turned in proposals to the district on Monday for a five-year agreement, with JP Mascaro turning in the apparent low amount of $119,092.That amount was $13,784 less than the next lowest proposal of $132,876 submitted by Waste Management.Other companies that bid were Advanced Disposal ($144,948) and Berger Sanitation ($188,664).Greg Derr, director of support services and transportation, said the district's current five-year agreement with Waste Management is set to expire June 30.Action could be taken when the school board meets at 7:30 p.m. April 13.
