Donohue seeks seat on state Supreme Court

Pennsylvania Superior Court judge and Lansford native Christine L. Donohue is aiming for a seat on the Supreme Court in the May 19 primary election.

Born in Coaldale and raised in Lansford, Donohue, a Democrat, graduated from East Stroudsburg University and Duquesne University School of Law.She was elected to the Superior Court in 2007.Donohue's father was a union coal miner and Lansford councilman; her mother was a union worker at the former Cinderella dress factory."Running statewide is hard work, and when I get worn down on the campaign trail, I love coming back to Carbon and Schuylkill counties and getting my batteries recharged by the contagious energy and good will my supporters here show for me," Donohue said.Her candidacy is supported by Carbon County Recorder of Deeds Emmett McCall."Judge Donohue is one of those leaders who has never forgotten where she came from. All you have to do is spend five minutes talking with her and you will know that she is still guided by the same working family values her mother, father and community instilled in her growing up," said McCall, Donohue's campaign co-chairman.Joseph Bodnar of Tresckow, who graduated with the candidate from Marian High School, is serving as the other county co-chairman of Donohue's campaign.Donohue has the highest ratings from the Pennsylvania Bar Association, scoring "highly recommended."In addition to the 27 years she has practiced law, and her seven years on the bench, Donohue has led or has served on every Pennsylvania enforcement body or tribunal established in the commonwealth to ensure that judges and lawyers are held to the highest ethical standards.
