Fire levels Schuylkill home

Schuylkill County officials are once again investigating a suspicious fire that leveled a home in a remote area of Blythe Township. The fire was first reported just after 10 p.m. at 78 Tucker Hill Road between the villages of New Philadelphia and Kaska. By the time firefighters maneuvered through the one-lane coal mining road, the home was to the ground with only a few chimneys standing. There have been several fires recently in the immediate area involving homes which were almost impossible to get to. The homes located along the old coal mining one-lane roads or paths apparently were those of miners or coal barons.
