March Guiding Star named by Concourse Club

Each year the Concourse Club of Palmerton honors five Guiding Stars from the Palmerton Area High School. The Guiding Stars are chosen by a committee of high school educators in the district.

A Guiding Star must be a female student in the top 25 percent of the senior class and be involved in both school and community activities. Each Guiding Star receives a certificate, an engraved Guiding Star charm, and a $100 cash award.Eliza Inez Good was recognized as the March Guiding Star at the March 12 Concourse Club meeting at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church. Eliza is the daughter of Anthony and Ellen Good.She enjoys playing guitar, writing, filming, animating, editing video and audio, drawing and creating with polymer clay. She is interested in travel, music, art, foreign languages, theology, philosophy and technology.Eliza participates in Drama Club, Souled Out and National Honor Society in school. She also contributes to the school newspaper and literary magazine and serves as the yearbook proofreader.The Summit Nursing Home in Lehighton Hospital benefits from Eliza's help and sharing of her musical talents. Eliza plans to attend a four-year college for filmmaking animation and hopes to study abroad.The Concourse Club enjoyed the musical selections that Eliza wrote, sang and played on her guitar. Members extend their best wishes to Eliza for continued successes as she reaches for the stars and guides others.
