A Carbon County man is facing charges, including unlawful contact with a minor, following incidents that occurred last week in Monroe County.
Pocono Mountain Regional police said on March 17 they were contacted by concerned parents that their child, 13, was having inappropriate contact with an adult male. An investigation began and it revealed that James Hood, 20, of 618 Mountain Road, Albrightsville, was contacting the victim via the Internet and was soliciting the child for sex. He had arranged to meet the victim on three separate occasions.On March 18 officers executed a search warrant at Hood's residence and evidence was seized. Hood was arrested at 4:35 p.m. that day.Additional charges include corruption of minors and criminal use of a communication facility, both felony threes. The unlawful contact with a minor charge is a felony one.Hood was arraigned by a district judge with bail set at $10,000. He was released from the Monroe County Correctional Facility in Snydersville after posting bond.
