Ingredients used in making meth are highly toxic and flammable.
Meth labs contain hazards such as poisonous chemicals which are highly explosive.According to the Department of Law Enforcement and Investigations of the National Park Service, if you suspect a meth lab, leave at once and report it.Don't open any coolers and don't touch any items.Handling methamphetamine waste residue can burn your skin and eyes, and breathing in the gases can send you to the hospital.Handling these chemicals with unprotected skin, or getting the dust in your eyes can cause serious damage. In addition, getting rid of a meth lab can be expensive. Meth cookers can result in battery acid, solvents and other toxic compounds as waste material and can be flammable, corrosive, toxic explosive, and even radioactive. In fact, one pound of meth produces 6 pounds of toxic waste.Even months after meth labs have been closed, chemical residue still remains.Traces of chemicals can permeate walls, drapes, carpets, and furniture, or in the case of the suspected Hometown lab, can contaminate the inside of a vehicle.Donald R.
