Warden salary set at $52,582

Carbon County has set the salary for its new warden.

During a special meeting of the county salary board on Thursday, the board voted to change the salary of the warden position from $55,764.80 per year to $52,582.40 per year, effective March 23.They also abolished the position of an acting warden, effective March 23.Timothy Fritz was hired as the warden on Wednesday by the county prison board.He had served as the acting warden since November, after former Warden Joseph Gross was terminated from the position.Commissioners set the salary lower for Fritz than Gross, based on his level on the county pay scale.In other prison matters, commissioners:• Approved the employment separation of Sabria K. McLaughlin of Weissport as a corrections officer at the prison, effective March 18.• Accepted the resignation of Jennifer L. Domines of Nesquehoning as a part-time corrections officer, effective Feb. 26.• Accepted the resignation of Todd C. Kehl of Lansford as a corrections officer, effective March 24.• Accepted the resignation of David S. Thorpe of Walnutport as a part-time corrections officer, effective Feb. 27.• Changed the statuses of Desirae A. Berger of Albrightsville and Jonathan J. Forsyth of Nesquehoning, from part-time corrections officers to part-time corrections officers/Teamsters, effective March 30.The salary board also voted to change the rate of one administrative secretary from $17.16 per hour to $12.40 per hour, effective March 19.Following the special salary board meeting, Carbon County commissioners acted on the following personnel moves:• Approved the employment separation of Kathleen A. Smith of Jim Thorpe as the administrative secretary in the Tax Claim Bureau, effective March 17.• Hired Kelsey K. McElvar of Lehighton as a county caseworker I, Children and Youth Services, effective March 30.• Changed the status of Mark J. Lambert of Albrightsville from temporary corrections officer to full-time corrections officer, effective March 23.• Changed the status of Joshua J. Jacobs of Nesquehoning from part-time dispatcher trainee to part-time dispatcher, Communications Center, effective March 30.

Fritz
