A Monroe County store was robbed early today.

State police at Fern Ridge said a white male entered the Turkey Hill store, at 1231 Interchange Road, in Chestnuthill Township, at 3:59 a.m. and demanded money from the cash register.As the store clerk attempted to open the register, the suspect punched him in the face causing minor injuries.The suspect then forced open the cash drawer and fled the store with the cash register drawer. An unknown amount of money was taken.The suspect is described as being about 5 feet, 10 inches or 6 feet tall, weighing about 200-220 pounds, stocky build, wearing a green shirt over his head, black long sleeve shirt, gray sweatpants and wearing red/white and black sneakers.Anyone with information concerning this incident is asked to call troopers at 570-646-2271.
