Pennsylvania State Police have begun targeting Route 903 in the northern portion of Carbon County, a rural two-lane highway, for increased enforcement programs.

A newly created task force heard about the increased police presence during a meeting at the Penn Forest Township Fire Company. Once dubbed the Highway to Adventure, Route 903 has become better known for its growing number of accidents, including eight fatalities in the past five years.An estimated 80 people attended the organizational meeting.
