(TNS) -A 10-year-old boy who allegedly wrote notes threatening to set off explosives at Pottsville Area's

D.H.H. Lengel Middle school twice in the past week was charged Wednesday by city police, according to Pottsville Area Superintendent Jeffrey S. Zwiebel."Through subsequent investigation by police, it was determined the threat was baseless and presents no need for future concern," Zwiebel said in a phone message to parents Wednesday afternoon. This is the second bomb threat case the Pottsville Area School District has had to deal with since the start of 2015. In the first, city police charged a 15-year-old boy Pottsville Area High School student who allegedly wrote a note threatening to set off a bomb in the high school on Jan. 15.The latest case occurred at the middle school at 1541 Laurel Blvd. At 8:45 a.m. Wednesday, city police responded to the middle school to investigate a threatening message found written on a bathroom stall, police Chief Richard F. Wojciechowsky said in a news release Wednesday afternoon."Police learned that a student had alerted school officials of a message which stated 'Bomb coming no school tomorrow or kaboom,' " Wojciechowsky said in the release."Based on school employee statements, it was determined that the handwriting had been done some time this morning. A cooperative investigation by police and school officials led to the quick identification of the student responsible," the chief said."Police also confirmed that this student was responsible for a separate handwritten message found in the school on February 18," Zwiebel said in the phone message to parents. The boy, who police did not identify, will be charged with two counts each of threats to use weapons of mass destruction, making terroristic threats, disorderly conduct and criminal mischief, the chief said."Internal school discipline is being handled by building and district officials," the chief said.Distributed by Tribune Content Agency, LLC
