Coaldale Borough Council's decision to withdraw from the Panther Valley Council of Governments has come back to haunt the four original member communities.

COG representatives from the other three communities Lansford, Nesquehoning and Summit Hill were informed that significant funding for implementing an advanced life support unit at Coaldale State General Hospital cannot be obtained because of Coaldale's withdrawal from the COG.
