One injured in Ginthers crash

Rush Township Police have released details of a crash late Saturday in which one person was injured.

According to Sgt. Duane Frederick, Edward Farley, 47, Sugarloaf, was traveling east driving a 2011 Ford Taurus on East Main Street at Ginthers and as he approached the fork in the road at the intersection with Claremont Avenue, Route 309, Farley's vehicle crossed over the double yellow line and traveled north on the southbound ramp.Farley's vehicle then entered Claremont Ave still traveling north in the southbound lane, colliding head on with a 2002 Nissan operated by Gabrielle Lech, 24, of New Ringgold.Lech was taken to a local hospital for unknown injuries.Police said Farley showed signs of intoxication and was taken to Pottsville Hospital for a blood test.DUI (alcohol) charges are pending the BAC results, police said, noting that the crash was the second alcohol-related collision within 12 hours at the same general location.
