Polk home damaged by fire

Fire companies from two counties responded Friday morning to a dwelling fire on Carney Road in Polk Township. 

The fire was first reported shortly after 10 a.m. when the residents reported flames in their home.

Polk Lt. Marybeth Serfass said no one was injured in the fire, but the ceiling had to be taken down. Most of the residents belongings were saved.

In addition to Polk, Kunkletown, West End and Towamensing departments were on scene.
