A 25-year-old woman who was 9 months pregnant was struck by a car Tuesday afternoonin the Walmart parking lot in Mahoning Township. The incident occurred at 3:13 p.m. as the woman was walking in the lot carrying a 2-year-old child. The two were knocked to the ground. The woman was treated at the scene by members of the Mahoning Valleyambulance and Lehighton paramedics before being transported to the Lehigh ValleyHospital Trauma Center in Allentown. There is no word on the condition of the child.

Mahoning Township police are investigating the incident.
