A raging fire this morning tore through two Jim Thorpe businesses. Jim Thorpe Auto Supply and Head To Toe Beauty and Fitness, located in the Strubinger Building in the 100 block of Laurel Street, were reduced to rubble by the fast moving flames.

When firefighters arrived at the scene shortly before midnight, the back half of the sprawling, single story, brick structure was engulfed in flames. Within minutes, the fire had spread to the front of the building.Officials say the fire apparently started in the garage area, but a state police fire marshal will investigate, due to the extent of the damage.
