Seven children received First Holy Communion Nov. 30 at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tamaqua. The children and their parents attended classes together to prepare them to receive the Sacrament of Holy Communion. They learned that communion is a special meal where we receive God's love, remember the special gift he gave us in his son, Jesus, and receive forgiveness of our sins. The first communion children are, from left, Brianna Dumond, Alexa Fegley, Ross Connely, Tiffany Wetherell, Kallia Wall, Isabellea Moyer and

Briana Wagner with Zion's interim pastor, the Rev. Virginia Goodwin.
