A magnificent concolor fir Christmas tree graces the first floor hallway of the Schuylkill County courthouse. Nearby, a creche adorned with tiny white lights beckons visitors to pause and reflect.

The tree, decorated with crocheted stars, simple wooden ornaments and ribbons, reaches to the ceiling. It was decorated this year by the real estate, planning and zoning, engineering, solid waste, coal lands, and tax assessment departments.Various departments and organizations take turns decorating the tree each year, assisted by courthouse maintenance workers.Last year, the Youth Summit Student Ambassadors decorated the tree. The tree, grown by Leonard's Tree Farm of Seltzer, was donated by the Schuylkill County Bar Association.Christmas is everywhere. One of our Facebook readers Johnette Walck, commented today on her best Christmas: "My best Christmas ever is every Christmas. It's the same every year. I don't worry about what I have, I don't worry about what I got for gifts. It's who I have. I have my family every year. This year has been a rough year but it's still my favorite. My family is my family. And to me family makes the best Christmas ever."
