New Tripoli man, 81, dies in Lehigh crash

An 81-year-old New Tripoli man died of injuries as a result of a two-vehicle crash at 1 p.m. Monday in Lynn Township.

Ralph Everett, of 8039 Kings Highway, Lynn Township, was pronounced dead at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest by the Lehigh County Coroner's Office.Scott Grim, Lehigh County coroner, said Everett died as a result of blunt-force neck trauma. He ruled the manner of death an accident.The crash happened at the intersection of Route 143 and Behler Road in Lynn Township.The coroner's office said Everett's car was involved in a collision with another vehicle.State police at Fogelsville said Everett made a left turn from Behler Road to Kings Highway directly in front of a vehicle driven by a 17-year-old Germansville male.The teen's vehicle struck the driver side of Everett's car.Everett was not wearing a seatbelt, police said.According to police radio reports, the crash trapped Everett in his car and he had to be extricated.Northwestern EMS,Lynnport Fire Company and Yocum Towing assisted at the scene.
