Jim Thorpe police arrested one man after he tried to stop firefighters from putting out a fire over the weekend.

According to JimThorpe police, at 6:48 p.m. Saturday, officers were dispatched to the rear of 711 Lehigh St. for a report of a vehicle fire.Upon arrival of the Jim Thorpe Fire Department, Peter Hydro, 46, of the above residence, began interfering with fire officials who were attempting to extinguish the fire.After several requests to cease his actions, Hydro was arrested and later charged with obstructing administration of law and other government functions and persistent disorderly conduct.He was then committed to the Carbon County Correctional Facility.Jim Thorpe Fire Department has deemed the fire suspicious, and the state police fire marshal was called to investigate.
