Bubel remembered, honored by Schuylkill officials

She loved her family and friends, and there was also a special place in her heart for Schuylkill Township, where she worked 17 years as the township secretary.

Mary Liz Bubel passed away in October. Recently, past and present elected and appointed officials, and Bubel's family, gathered to share memories. The township supervisors also wanted to unveil a plaque, which includes her picture, which will be displayed in the township building."She was someone we all loved and cared for deeply, and we wanted to do something to commemorate her service everyone knew how important she was to this community," Supervisor Christine Verdier said. "Outside of her family and friends, she loved the township, and we miss her each and every day."State Sen. David Argall presented Bubel's family with citations recognizing Bubel's service from the Pennsylvania House of Representatives and Senate. He spoke of the importance of local government, both elected officials and employees."Every branch of local government needs somebody like Mary doing the behind-the-scenes work," Argall said. "Her life greatly benefited all those who lived, worked and served with her."
