Dana Gaynor Band to perform in Tamaqua

The Dana Gaynor Band will be performing at the Tamaqua Community Arts Center on Jan. 24.

Originally known as Godfried Daniels, the three-piece jam band has its roots in a variety of musical genres: blues, rock, funk, jazz and psychedelic. Performances are of a free-form nature, mixing original and select cover material designed to produce a close relationship with the audience, differing from show to show.Lead guitarist/vocalist Gaynor is well-known among musicians in the New York and San Francisco areas. She has performed with Buddy Miles, Vassar Clements, Dan Hicks, John Cipollina of Quicksilver Messenger Service, Keith and Donna Godcheaux of The Grateful Dead, and Don Preston of the Leon Russell Band and many others.Other band members include Tony Mancino on bass and vocals, Frank Zee on drums and vocals, and Lenny Depiano on keyboard and vocals.The arts center is located at 125 Pine St., Tamaqua.
