L.V. Charter school students give Palmerton performance

Members of the senior class of the Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts presented a performance of "There is a Tree Where the Sidewalk Ends" at the Palmerton Area Library.

The play was adapted by student Sarah Bauch from Shel Silverstein's "Where the Sidewalk Ends" and "The Giving Tree," under the direction of their teacher, Ashley Weller. They will continue to perform at schools, libraries and other venues.Included in the performance were messages about bullying, chores are important, what happens if you watch too much television, and that everyone is special and "we're all the same when we turn out the light."One of the members of the class and cast is Elizabeth Anthony of Palmerton, and it was her suggestion that the performance come to Palmerton Area Library. When it was over, Weller asked the children if they had any questions for the cast. One little girl had no question but she said, "I love them all," a reaction shared by everyone.
