Mary D fire ruled accidental

The cause of the fire that ravaged a double block house Sunday in the

village of Mary D will be ruled accidental, an incident related to

cooking.

Those were the words announced shortly before noon today by Fire Chief

Matthew J. Rudy, Mary D Fire Company, following an investigation

conducted by him Sunday night and another early Monday by Pennsylvania

State Police Fire Marshal John Burns.

Family members and volunteers spent Monday retrieving what they could

from the burned-out shell of 133 and 134 Sunny Lane, a fire that left

seven homeless.
