LEVITTOWN, Pa. (AP) - Police say they are investigating whether a man accused of falsely posing as a U.S. Army ranger while shopping at a suburban Philadelphia mall broke the law.
Middletown Police Chief Joseph Bartorilla said Tuesday that the man didn't ask for a military discount at a shoe store he was exiting when a decorated Army veteran questioned him and captured it on video.
The Bucks County Courier Times (http://bit.ly/1FM1JwV ) also reports that U.S. Rep. Mike Fitzpatrick has asked the U.S. attorney's office to investigate.
The video created by Ryan Berk, who served in Afghanistan and received a Purple Heart, had received 2 million views on YouTube by Tuesday evening.
Retired Col. Richard Nurnberg of the National Infantry Association says it's impossible the man won the three Combat Infantrymen Badges he was wearing.
