Lansford giving away a century-old piano

A 1907 J&C Fischer piano is being offered on a first-come basis by Lansford Borough.

The 53-inch upright piano, made of mahogany, sits it in the boroughhall.The borough inherited it when it moved the borough office from the top of the American Hose Company to the former Lansford Recreation Center.Borough secretary Mary Fittos said one person looked at the piano, played it and appears interested.She said that person said the tuning is pretty good on it.Whoever gets the piano will be responsible for moving it from the borough hall at their expense.Anyone interested should contact either Mary or Jill at the borough hall during business hours at 570-645-3900.
