Woman dies, 4 others wounded in Philly shootings

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - A woman died from her injuries after being shot twice while walking her dog near Philadelphia's Fairmount Park, while a teenager and three men went to the hospital after two gunmen in the city's Fairhill section opened fire.

Police identified the 42-year-old woman who died Sunday morning as Kathryn Berry, a mother of four who worked as a home health aide. Police say she had been heading to a corner store Saturday night and are unsure of a motive. They say the suspect targeted her, however.

In the other attack, gunmen confronted a 17-year-old boy as he was riding his bicycle and one hit him in the back of the head with a gun.

Police say the two assailants then opened fire, wounding the teenager and three other men.
