The Tamaqua Elementary Parent Teacher Organization will be conducting its annual membership drive through Oct. 31. Membership is open to adult family members of students in the Tamaqua and Rush elementary schools.The next regular meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 14 in the Tamaqua Elementary school library. Fifth-grade parents will also meet that day at 5:30 p.m.The meeting will include an update on the current KidsStuff fundraiser coupon books.Couples groupA new group study session for couples is being offered at Bethany Evangelical Congregational Church, 223 E. Peter and Paul and St. Jerome Catholic Churches in Tamaqua has led to a few changes in the Mass schedules at both churches, as well as a name change for St. Jerome's.Now known as the Parish of St. John XXIII, Masses will continue to be held at both churches.At St. John XXIII (former St. Jerome's), weekend Masses are held at 4:30 p.m. on Saturdays and at 11 a.m. on Sundays. The Sacrament of Reconciliation is from 3:30 to 4:15 p.m. on Saturdays.Masses at SS. Peter and Paul are held at 8 and 9:30 a.m. on Sundays.
