Police are investigating a crash Wednesday night along Center street in Tamaqua. The crash occurred about 11:30 p.m. in front of 233 Center St. When emergency responders arrived on scene they found a car sitting on the east sidewalk and a utility pole snapped off at the base. It appeared the driver home how lost control of the unit with it mounting the curb impacting with the pole. Center Street (Route 309) was closed for a time as police investigated the crash and the wreckage removed.
