A Carbon County man, Donald Bryan, 54, formerly of Lehighton, directed the Columbus Boys Choir, one of the three choral organizations that took part in the opening of the New York Philharmonic Orchestra's new home.

Philharmonic Hall, the first unit of the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, is expected to become a world-renowned cultural center.Music director Leonard Bernstein conducted the orchestra.The nation's first lady, Mrs. John F. Kennedy, was one of the guests at the opening.
