Longtime Eastern Schuylkill Recreation Commission Director Jason Boris is resigning, effective in a week. Boris made the announcement during an ESRC meeting Tuesday.

"I took a new position as a recreation supervisor with the Blue Mountain Recreation Commission, and my last day at ESRC will be Friday, Sept. 19," Boris said. "I started with ESRC in January 2001, so it's been a great 14-year run."At the helm of ESRC, Boris was in charge of overseeing numerous recreation programs and also was very successful in obtaining grants for many projects.
