Monroe man changes mind, pleads to DUI

A Monroe County man scheduled to go on trial Monday in Carbon County court on a driving under the influence changed his mind and entered a guilty plea to the charge.

Donn Chandler Innes, 59, of Long Pond was arrested on July 18, 2013, along Route 1003 by Kidder Township police. Police observed Innes not coming to a complete stop at a stop sign and they made a vehicle stop.Innes refused to submit to a blood test, meaning he will lose his license for a year for the refusal.Judge Joseph J. Matika accepted the plea but deferred sentencing so Innes could apply for placement in the county's Intermediate Punishment Program. Innes faces a mandatory jail sentence at the time of sentencing.
