Raising money for suicide prevention

Suicide prevention is near and dear to the hearts of the organizers of Dudefest, a day of food and fun devoted to raising awareness of a serious problem. The Sixth Annual Dudefest was held in late August at the West Penn Rod and Gun Club in memory of Cory McCarrollof Tamaqua. The event was created by McCarroll's sister, TaraStauffenberg of Tamaqua, to hope save other families from the pain and sorrow of suicide. Proceeds are donated to the Schuylkill County Suicide Prevention Task Force. Organizers include, front from left,Ali and Stephanie McCarroll; back, Mark and Frank McCarroll and Stauffenberg. Unavailable for the photo were Ken Stauffenberg and Tom and Michele McCarroll.
