All summer long, 21-year-old Jamie Turner of Tamaqua wanted a mountain bike.

When he happened to win one last week in the Knights of Columbus raffle to benefit the Carbon-Tamaqua Unit of the American Cancer Society, Turner surprised everyone by donating the prize and returning it to the sponsoring organization. He said it was no big deal, just a matter of common sense. The Knights of Columbus plans to donate the bike to the ACS in Turner's name, and hope the bike will go to a child in remission.
