Man killed in motorcycle crash will have military burial

A Barnesville man killed in a motorcycle crash Wednesday night will have a military funeral at Fort Indiantown Gap.

Brian C. Bittner, age 38, of Tuscarora, died from injuries sustained due to a motorcycle crash on Route 309 South in Rush Township.

Bitter was a Tamaqua High School graduate, class of 1995, and served in the United States Air Force as a maintenance Tech and Crew Chief during Desert Shield having been deployed to Kuwait.

Bittner last worked as Superintendent of Mines for Lehigh Anthracite in Tamaqua. A talented musician, he played in many local bands, and also would D.J. under the moniker Liquid Courage.

Arrangements are being entrusted to E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 655 East Broad Street Tamaqua.

Private Military Honors will be bestowed at Ft. Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville.
